Take the Mt. Baldy 5000 race weekend beyond the finish line with the Camp Baldy Experience—an overnight adventure that includes hiking, yoga, camping, bird watching, stargazing and more! Come out to Mt. Baldy and make a night out of it!

Start Your Adventure with a Hike or Run to the Notch!

Option A: Hike to the Notch

Start your Camp Baldy adventure with a guided hike starting at the Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts parking lot up to the Top of the Notch. This will be a leisurely, non-competitive 2.3-mile hike led by a knowledgeable guide. All of your gear will be transported to the top.

Option B: Race the Mt. Baldy 5000
6:00pm
For those seeking a challenge, the Mt. Baldy 5000 trail race begins at 6:00 PM. This 5K course climbs over 1,000 feet, offering a can’t miss trail race experience for runners of all ability levels. Like the hike, the race will end at the Top of the Notch, where the rest of the nights festivities will continue.

Evening Programming at the Notch

BBQ Dinner at the Notch
After your run/hike, kick back and enjoy the world famous Baldy BBQ dinner, with live music and stunning sunset views.

Campsite
After dinner, our Camp Baldy team will lead you to your campsite, located a short distance from the Notch. There you’ll get setup for your night under the stars! We suggest heading to your nearest REI Co-op and getting geared up before the big day.

Star Gazing & Storytelling
After sunset, we’ll meet back at the Notch for our late-night programming, which will include some stargazing and storytelling. More to come soon!

Enjoy a Morning on the Mountain

Sunrise Yoga
Start your day with a peaceful sunrise yoga session, led by an experienced instructor. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the stunning views as you loosen up after a night at altitude.

Continental Breakfast with a view
After Yoga, we’ll head back to the Notch where you can enjoy a continental breakfast while soaking in the fresh mountain air.

Recovery hike & Bird Watching
After breakfast we’ll do a short recovery hike and some bird watching around the Notch. Then we’ll hop on the chair lift and head back to the parking lot to wrap up the adventure.


Event Pricing
$115/Person: This includes participation in the Mt. Baldy 5000 (or the guided group hike), a Mt. Baldy 5000 hat, BBQ Dinner after the race, a continental breakfast on Sunday, a guided yoga class, and a guided hike or chair lift ride back to your car in the morning.
Family Package Pricing:
$195 for Two Family Members: Perfect for couples or parent/child pairs.
$275 for Three Family Members / $340 for Four Family Members
For families with more than 5 members, please contact us for custom pricing.
Kids must be over the age of 7 to participate in the hike/run portion of the event.
Note: The price for participation in the Mt. Baldy 5000 is $50. If you are just interested in racing you can signup for the race on UltraSignup here. If you already signed up for the Mt. Baldy 5000 and are interested in registering for the full “Camp Baldy Experience” please email: run@trialsofmilesracing.com.

We expect the weather to be warm during the day, so we recommend packing light, breathable clothing along with a change of clothes for the evening. Bring whatever you’d normally pack for an overnight camping trip—think sleeping bag, toiletries, and a headlamp. All meals will be provided, and indoor bathrooms are available for brushing your teeth and washing up. You’ll need to bring your own tent, though we do have a limited number available to rent. If you'd like to reserve one, please check the rental option during registration.
