Opening Night 2026

Save The Date! On Friday, September 4, 2026, Trials of Miles is kicking off the season with another afternoon/evening of Cross Country racing at the Morven Park Grounds in Leesburg, VA. Runners can expect a fast course and a unique festival like environment with music and delicious bites. The event is a perfect opportunity for any middle or high school teams that want to start their season with a bang.
Please note registration is open until Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:59PM EST.
This year’s race course is situated on the Equestrian side of Morven Park. The park routinely hosts events throughout the week and weekend. To avoid a potential conflict with other scheduled events, Coaches and/or teams that would like access to the grounds should contact the park at 703-777-2414 prior to visiting.

Morven Park provides an ideal setting for a marquee Cross Country course, with a variety of desired & essential elements. The grass fields are expertly manicured, with surrounding picturesque wooded landscape and intentionally designed natural pathways. Wide open fields and connected loops afford spectators a direct connection, in multiple areas, to cheer on runners as they test early season conditioning. Simultaneously, coaches can reach various points to evaluate their runners' form, fitness, and competitive instincts!

3:20 pm - Freshman Girls 2 Miles (9th Grade Only)
3:40 pm - Freshman Boys 2 Miles (9th Grade Only)
4:00 pm - JV Girls 5K
4:30 pm - JV Boys 5K (Races A & B)
5:15 pm - Varsity Girls 5K
5:45 pm - Varsity Boys 5K
5:50pm - Girls Varsity Team Awards Presentation
6:15 pm - Open 5k - Combined (Unattached/Homeschool/Community/Combined Genders)
6:20pm - Boys Varsity Team Awards Presentation

US-15 runs parallel to the MORVEN PARK Equestrian Center entrance & leads to Tutt Lane. US-15 becomes very busy & highly trafficked; especially at the end of a workday & on holidays! Please leave extra time to account for potentially heavy traffic!
From points WEST:
Take US-15/Leesburg Bypass NORTH. Following the light at Battlefield Parkway, the north-bound lanes will split from the south-bound lanes. Just after they merge again, enter the left turn lane to turn LEFT onto Tutt Lane (Route 740). Continue 0.5 miles to the Morven Park entrance on the LEFT.
From Maryland or points NORTH:
Take US-15 SOUTH toward Leesburg. After the light at White’s Ferry Road/Raspberry Falls, look for the third road on the right, Tutt Lane (Route 740). You will turn onto Tutt Lane just before the US-15 Business and US-15 Bypass split. Continue 0.5 miles to the Morven Park entrance on the left.
From Warrenton, VA and points SOUTH:
Take US-15 N/US-29 North, take James Madison Hwy./US-15. At VA-7, turn right and continue on the ramp onto US-15 Bypass NORTH. Continue on US-15/Leesburg Bypass NORTH. Following the light at Battlefield Parkway, enter the left turn lane to turn LEFT onto Tutt Lane (Route 740). Continue 0.5 miles to the Morven Park entrance on the LEFT.

Morven Park is a 1,000-acre area with two entry points. For this event, you MUST use the entrance from Tutt Lane. Please use this address/link to arrive at the correct park entrance as it is different from previous years: 41793 Tutt Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176
If GPS takes you to Fairmont Road/Old Waterford Road, you have reached the incorrect access point! Please only use the dropped pin/address above for your directions.
Once on Tutt Lane, teams, buses, and those with accessible parking passes will be directed to the appropriate parking area by our staff on site!
Parking for spectators is $10 ahead of time and can be purchased here to help speed up arrival time. Parking for spectators on site will be $15 and only cash or card will be accepted. Please share this link with your athletes so their loved ones can come and spectate!
Team Pricing Caps (Per Gender)
Invoices will be capped at the following tiers based on your total squad size (Middle School and High School combined):
Tier 1 Cap (10 to 25 Athletes): $250 maximum
Once you register 10 runners, any additional athletes up to 25 are included at no extra cost.
Tier 2 Cap (26+ Athletes): $350 maximum
Designed for large programs. Register your entire middle school, development, and JV rosters without soaring costs; your squad price will never exceed $350 per gender.

If you would like to take care of payment as early as June 2026 and you already know your anticipated roster size, you can submit payment early. Teams are welcome to pay online on athletic.net or by check.
