Opening Night 2025

Presented by New Balance and Tuscarora High School XC

On Friday, August 29, 2025, Trials of Miles is kicking off the season with another afternoon/evening of Cross Country racing at the Morven Park Grounds in Leesburg, VA. Runners can expect a fast course and a unique festival like environment with music and delicious bites. The event is a perfect opportunity for any middle or high school teams that want to start their season with a bang. We are also offering an open race for unattached runners & club teams.

  • Morven Park provides an ideal setting for a marquee Cross Country course, with a variety of desired & essential elements. The grass fields are expertly manicured, with surrounding picturesque wooded landscape and intentionally designed natural pathways. Morven's XC course also features an honest balance of hills to challenge runners and complimentary downhill and flat stretches for recovery, creating a productive flow through. Wide open fields and connected loops afford spectators a direct connection, in multiple areas, to cheer on runners as they test early season conditioning. Simultaneously, coaches can reach various points to evaluate their runners' form, fitness, and competitive instincts!
