
TRACK NIGHT
TRACK NIGHT NYC presented by New Balance returns to Icahn Stadium on Friday, May 2. This year’s event features two exciting components:
The High School Invite (2:00-7:15pm)
An NFHS-Sanctioned High School Invitational with heats of the 100m, 200m, 800m, Mile, Two Mile, 100m Hurdles, 110m Hurdles, 4x400m Relay, High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put. This event is open to high school runners of all ability levels.
The high school program will conclude with the seeded New Balance sections of the 800m and Mile.
Miles AFTER DARK (7:15-9:15pm)
Once the high school races wrap up and the sun sets, the energy shifts to Miles After Dark, where runners of all ages and abilities can chase fast times under the lights. These heats will progressively get faster throughout the evening, with pacers in every race to help runners hit their goal times. This part of the event will also feature some high performance 800s and 1500s.

The High School Invite

NFHS- Sanctioned Invite
The program will kickoff around 2pm with an NFHS-Sanctioned High School Invitational. The order of events is as follows:

2 Mile* (9:45/11:30 Time Standard)

3:00PM - Boys Shot Put, Girls Follow Boys
All grades and ability levels are eligible to compete. Top 6 in every event receive an award.
Seeded High School Sections
The high school window will conclude with seeded high school sections of the mile and 800m. All athletes in these races will get a New Balance kit. The cut-off for these seeded sections last year were approximately 1:54 and 2:11 for the 800’s and 4:13 and 4:56 for the 1 mile. The final cutoffs will be determined based on final entries.
Note: The seeded high school sections will operate under USATF rules.

Miles After Dark
7:15 - 9:00pm
Open Miles
Once the high school races wrap up and the sun sets, the energy shifts to the Miles After Dark, where runners of all ages and abilities can chase fast times under the lights. These heats will progressively get faster throughout the evening, with pacers in every race to help runners hit their goal times. Whether you're looking for a PR or just want to experience the thrill of racing at Icahn Stadium, this is a night at the track you won’t want to miss.
High Performance/Seeded Sections
The Miles After Dark program will kick off with a High-Performance Window, showcasing some of the fastest races of the night. This segment will feature seeded open sections of the 800m and 1500m.
High-Performance Entry Standards:
Women’s Mile/1500: 5:00/4:40
Men’s Mile/1500: 4:10/3:55
Women’s 800m: 2:20
Men’s 800m: 2:00
